Because he had a really good hitting coach and a really good pitching coach.
He then hired a former player with no experience coaching who graduated in 2010.

Miles was never ever ever going to win the SEC west again after 2011. It wasn't going to happen. Yet we waited 4 more years to can him.

It's too early, but how can you totally change the lineup against a weak team in a mid week game while the weekend lineup is in a slump. They score 13 runs then expect the weekend lineup to just turn it on again on the mid week's momentum. If they are in a slump Slaughter, Smith, Pap, Jordan need those mid week games.
