I've had Ali Highsmith's 2005 Capital One Bowl game used jersey for a few years, and now I have the perfect pairing. Its amusing to see the old jerseys with the loose mesh, up next to the current fitted/compression ones with the spandex.

In recent years they've started adding elastic to the bottom of the jerseys to keep them tucked into their pants.

Agreed. I never liked the new version of the "full stripes" because they abruptly ended rather than connecting like they original stripes.

For reference

Cool. I have a 100% cotton #18 jersey from late seventies. Now this is classic. Has the shoulder stripes that go all around along with the thick stripes on the sleeve. It's the style jersey that people refer to when they talk about jerseys back in the day. Also have some net jerseys from the same time period. Don't see many like that any longer.

That's awesome! I'd love to see some photos of the jerseys if you have any; olegreg411@gmail.com
A friends dad from High school has Carl Otis Trimble's gamer from the 70s, however I'm not sure if it survived the flood sadly.
