+1

I even drove up the morning of the 11AM game 2 years ago, but anything on Turkey Day is not very feasible, if you actually do a Turkey Day.

I live less than an hour from College Station and won't be going.

That has more to do with having absolutely no desire to go to A&M though.

I had no desire for them to join the SEC, either.

I hope not a single LSU fan shows up to prove a point to AM and the Tigers beat AM into submission. I'm sure the players don't want to play on Thanksgiving. They spend their entire school year playing football, they probably appreciate Thanksgiving with their extended family. Especially the out of towners. JMO. Flame away.

You do realize that the Tigers have spent Thanksgiving every other year for the past 15 years or so travelling to Arkansas, right?

Uhhh...LSU players never spend Thanksgiving with their families. They ate a good meal with the team and prepared for Arkansas. Get ya facts right, son

Yes, and it's generally one of the lower turnout SEC games for LSU. The games in Arkansas are in the smallest SEC venue and majority Arkansas fans. The LSU games are often 10,000 seats under capacity. That would not have been the case if the game was played on Saturday rather than Friday.

The A&M game shouldn't be too bad for younger fans, no? Recent alums, folks with no kids ... They can party on Wednesday night, chill on Thanksgiving, head to the game that night.

Valid point. Didn't think about that. I'm dumb.

Eta: regardless, I'd rather the game be played on Saturday. Why all the Thursday Friday bullshite? Just play it on Saturday like almost every other college football game.

It will be easier on them than on families, but still not easier than if the game was just on Saturday.

I went two years ago when we played them in October, and I have a ticket this year if I want it, but I'm gonna pass. I'm not gonna pass up a couple of good meals and spending time with the family, plus 4 days to go hunting because of the extra long weekend.

I am really surprised more people (at least people in Texas) haven't said they will just do Thanksgiving dinner on Friday. It will be a somber day for either me or my wife, but I'm liking my odds. Obviously, this wouldn't work for families that aren't 100% LSU or aTm.

Depends on how meaningful the game is at that point in the season. If it has west implications I can see fans making that trip. If not, they will probably skip it and enjoy Thanksgiving witht the family.

Yes it works well for the east tx fans as usual. Feel like we are Arkansas with their little rock/Fayetteville bullshite.

So which one of you guys with tickets that can't go because it's thanksgiving, want to sell me your face value tickets?

Surely with such a low turnout you won't be trying to make extra on your tickets right?

I'm not a fan of us bending to ATM's thanksgiving tradition, but seeing the tiger's play is a legitimate reason to miss thanksgiving in my family. Hell I bet they all come to ATM and we have thanksgiving at our tailgate.

I think many more LSU fans have family in TX than the SW corner of Missouri (what I lovingly call Fayettenam) so that is a silver lining to having Thanksgiving in TX.

I'm willing to bet TAMU does something for fans, both sides, that want to spend Thanksgiving on their campus. Or maybe that's a pipe dream. However, I would bet TAMU goes far and above the Hogs for visitors.

ETA: it may be early, but I'm guessing turn out at least this year will be at least average, not low. I put in for 6 away game tickets, only 2 filled (and I'm pretty good on points). However, TAMU is notoriously stingy about visitor tix while bragging about capacity.

I have 0 intentions of ever going to an A&M game on Thanksgiving DAY. Bad enough it's A&M, but thanksgiving day is for my family. The Saturday after was fine, but it's a road trip I will never plan to make.
