What's rhe rule on how close to the rubber the pitchers have to be when they release the ball? They certainly seem to launch themselves a long way before they release the ball. Just wondering.

As long as foot maintains contact with ground ( which is seldom called anyway) they're good to go.

Foot is supposed to drag. They really have to get some air before it's called.
