I hope the fans of old show up, the ones that don't feel entitled to wins, the ones that showed up STOOD and yelled for 4 quarters, the ones that scared the hell out of the college football world...LSU fans starved for wins were WAY better than the ones that show up now.

GIVE'EM HELL SATURDAY TIGGAHS!

Our expectations are different and rightly so...

The ones that booed saban off the field when he was way too conservative on offense and allowed ole miss to kick our arse? I think we can make that happen.

This is becoming folklore...especially the part of "they sell out no matter who they play" that is a joke.

Loudest Fans?

my first sec game in tiger stadium was the 2000 Tennessee game. Obviously everyone remembers coming off of our great performance vs. UAB.

That place was electric. I know that it sort of gets that way for big games now but only the big games it seems. Hopefully enough people consider this week a big game. see y'all there

Well said OP. you will get ripped apart by some of the younger posters on here tho because they have no clue what it was like 10-15 years ago. They think we should fire our coach after 1 loss and most have already given up on a team that will probably go to the national championship if we win out.... Oh how I miss the Tiger fans of old

#3 ranked team in the country is visiting. I don't think it will be a quiet atmosphere. Not at the beginning at least.

I was there too, and I keep thinking of this game as kind of the new age replacement of that. It's funny how losing to Florida has replaced losing to UAB. That tells you just how far we've come.

Without going all into detail about that day, I will say that the crowd was excited because of the play of Rohan, Toefield, and Reed. All three stepped up big time that night, and were fun to watch. That's what got the crowd into it. Which, is what we're asking of the players this year. Somebody (on offense specifically) be the leader and step up and carry the dead weight.

Maybe when the coaches and team put forth the effort and make corrections when required like they did in 2001, the fans will also change their opinion. Nobody is entitled to wins. We haven't had an undefeated season in over 50 years (thanks Les). But when the product has clear mistakes that my wife can recognize, I expect the coaches to change it up and correct that before the next week. Now it's mid October and we still continue to see the same thing each week. We got worse each week on offense about this time last year (thanks Les and Jordan). Why should I hold out hope it'll be any different now? Quit making it the fans fault when the problem is on the sideline.

2001 is too young. Let's go to the real fans from the 1980's!!!

Won't happen. Our fanbase completely changed after 2003. While I would never trade the success we have had since then, I do miss those days sometimes.

hell, the fans in my day were 100x better than current fans. of course, we didn't have to take a loan out to go to games. winning nc's brings uber expectations and with the internet and VIDEO FOOTBALL GAMES, today's 20 yr old becomes an expert in offensive philosophy. add the fact they are still on momma's tit and have never experienced failure (parents guaranteed that) or experienced success for that matter and the result is what used to be called a temper tantrum.

A lot of truth. Some of us old fricks can appreciate.

Ya know, the game is what WE make it...92,000 screaming tiger fans is what we are famous for...the team has always been up and down, but the one consistent (until recently) has been the fans. It's just not the same...hell, watch SCAR...they have been rocking that stadium for EVER...recently they are good. But those fans come ready. Same with VA Tech fans...our fans used to stand most the game..now they mosie in around end of first quarter...hell, most don't even make pregame (or as we call it Tiger Church).

The electricity of our stadium goes a LONG way with the players, the more we bring, it energizes them. If we don't win, we can walk knowing that 92,000 fans supported them the best we can, and did what we could to make the opposing players keep saying that DV is one hard as hell place to play.
