A lot of pitchers today, including McKay for the first time in a while. Any word on Nick Bush? I haven't seen his name in any of these.

What do you make of these bad stats? (For the most part)

Will the starters be decided when they return to action in January? Or now?

What's your take on the team?

I don't have any info on Nick Bush. He hasn't pitched in any scrimmages this fall. I did find out that Austin Bain has been throwing 3 days a week but, not off the mound. Hopefully, he will be 100% come spring.

Good to hear. When Bain had his surgery, I read that the goal was to get him back by spring, and it sounds like he's on pace for that. Hopefully Bryce Jordan will be back by then as well.

The hitters are not as ready for the season to start as the pitchers, IMO. As I've said before, many of the position players are newcomers to this level and will take more time to adjust. Some of them will catch up by the time the season gets here and with our team speed and really good pitching, I think this team will be OK.

Two starting pitchers can be penciled in as of now, IMO. Lange has looked very good and Poche seems to be as dependable as last year. There are three pitchers who I think will decide the Sunday starter role this spring. They are: Jake Latz, Jake Godfrey, and Riley Smith. There are others that may show more in the spring than I have seen this fall, but I think that we have a good situation for weekend and weekday starters.

Our bullpen looks very reliable as well. There are experienced arms as well as some promising newcomers to fill up innings and close games. I think this is the best staff I have seen, top to bottom, at LSU.

Ok, that's good.

Do you think we/they geaux with speed only in the outfield or do Jordan and Ducote get a shot?

3rd Freeman? Deichmann 2nd, 1st, or 3rd?

I don't think the outfield will be decided until the end of spring practice. Of course, Fraley will be there but the other two positions will be determined by which two of these four get their bats going best: Beau Jordan, Cody Ducote, Brennan Breaux, and Antoine Duplantis. I like the freshmen's speed on the bases because I think we will be in a lot of low scoring games this year, and we will need to steal a few runs to win some of them.

I like Reid at 3rd. The staff seems to be leaning toward Lockridge this fall but I think it will be decided in spring. Freeman is in the mix as well.

I think Deichmann's bat gets him in the lineup, somewhere. There will be a logjam at 1st this spring with Bryce Jordan coming back along with Bryce Adams and Brody Wofford. One of these will play 1st with the others platooning at DH, IMO
