Simple- call the batter automatically out, since the 2B throw was going to first base. The runner on third was completely out of the play.

You can question the rule but the way it's written it's the right call.

I can and I did. Again, I understand the way the rule is written. I don't agree with the penalty that affects a play away from what happened.
