companies have contracts for certain ad space. since they took down the south endzone board for expansion they had to place them on the other scoreboard to honor the contracts. once expansion is finished they'll redo the board.

This is what LSU said when they first got the new boards in 2009. It's been 4 years, and all we got were static LCD ads.

Let me tell you what's going to happen when the new south ez is done: they're going to install the exact same shite looking scoreboard as the first post in this thread and say "we gotta pay for the new south ez scoreboard". Fact!

I would rather they have left it alone if they are just gonna put up additional ads. It looks terrible and is simply too busy.

There'll be two new scoreboards for quadruple the ads!

but they use them for ads instead of usefull info like score updates from other games or stats.

Every game I've ever been to I've seen the 1-25 ranked teams score updates on the east side banner

Maybe this is not the case on the west side banner

And some of the companies appear on the sign and the scoreboard portion. Do we need Verizon, Cox, McDonalds, Coca-Cola, and LSUsports.net twice?

Right, but catching the score you're looking for is a miracle. I guess one becomes spoiled after getting used to the boards in the Dome specifically used to show other NFL scores. Even so, however, other SEC venues I've visited seem to cycle through scores far more frequently than what we get at Tiger Stadium.

Signage is one of the most important aspects of any sponsorship deal, and you clowns think the corporations are gonna pay the same price for half the amount of signs. Retards

Isn't that mandated by the NFL? It's pretty much advertising for the NFL product at an NFL event.

Looks like the Broncos use 1/3 of their video board for ads too

Damn we have a bunch of whiny bitch fans.

All these facility upgrades and high paid coaches have to get paid for with money and that money has to come from somewhere.

This.

That's what happens when your athletic department is financially independent of the school...they have to get the money from somewhere else!

After reading this old thread, it is apparent to me that this is not a temporary fix. Very disappointing.

What is the point of having a nice scoreboard if all you are gonna do is put ads up all over it! I would rather they put temporary banners hanging from the sections to give people there proper signage than double up the scoreboard...

I understand LSU can't hang with the Alabamas, Ohio States, Oregon, etc..in terms of cash flow coming into athletics, however they can hang with the vanderbilts and mississippi states of college football.

Can you imagine Tiger Stadium with a replay board similar to Mississippi States?

excellent, we will have an even bigger, more brilliantly colored scoreboard that I can't find any useful info on....damn shame that I still find myself looking at the south end scoreboard anytime I want game info...
