Actually, Coach Cryer had already left St. Mary's to coach at St. Louis in Lake Charles. You are referring to Coach Lee Doty who took the Tigers to the Dome his second year and was fired the following spring. Doty is now coaching a successful program at Sterlington.

ETA: I wish Coach Cryer well. He and his family are good people.

Good morning! Coach Cryer has moved up to #1 on the transplant list for his blood type. While it’s still a waiting game, it seems to be a shorter wait.
While we hope for a shorter wait, we also realize that for this to happen, someone must make the ultimate sacrifice. We pray for Coach Cryer’s family and the Family of the soul who will be his donor.

I just found out that Coach Charlie Cryer received his new liver last night at about 9:30pm. His surgery was a complete success. While everyone is Thankful for this...we must all keep in mind that someone had to make the ultimate sacrifice for coach Cryer to live. Our prayers and eternal thanks go out to this person's family. God Bless!
