Before yesterday, Florida's wins were: New Mexico St. (blowout), ECU. (by 1 TD); Kentucky (by less than 1 TD) and Tennessee (by a miracle of God). They were unable to run the ball and, other than the NM State game, the passing game was average. They didn't have a clear starting QB, and in general they did not look remotely like a top ten team.

By comparison, Ole Miss had a marquee win, a sexy offense with several 70 point outings, and a top ranked QB. Essentially, they were everything that the rant wishes LSU would be. Yet the Gators blew the doors off them.

What broader lessons, if any, would you draw from that game?

Clearly has poor reading comprehension skills.

Have NEVER seen a rantard wishing we were OM, or ever called anything about them sexy.

Gimmicky, not secksy.

This thread is probably one of the most logical ones I have read on here in a while. You are exactly right. Les totally plays down to the level of his opponent. This team has the potential to beat anyone in the country this year, and that's what I am excited about.

UF is rebuilding and their expectations were lower

they have improved a bunch and are exceeding those expectations, although nobody takes them serious as an SEC title contender or anything

they are showing life, gaining momentum/confidence and have a bunch of talent. they're not a throw away game at this point

basically they moved from a tier similar to where MSU was to the next higher tier

i'm more pissed for the future, b/c mcelwain looks to be a good HC and if UF gets a good HC it hurts us due to UF being our permanent opponent

So we've moved on from getting pissed about imaginary future losses this year, to getting pissed about imaginary future losses next year.
