to me, it looks like JJ holds himself back. Look at the FLA game. 17 pass attempts. 5 sacks and 8-10 qb scrambles. That's roughly 30 called pass plays out of only 48 plays that we had on offense. There were probably several more pass plays that he checked out of. The reason the O doesn't look "WIDE OPEN" is that none of the called downfield passes are ever actually thrown. All this "turn JJ loose" stuff is bull. He's loose already, it's just not getting done.

Maybe we need to go back to pounding the ball I really don't know, but from where I'm sitting, I don't see any handcuffs on JJ from a coaching standpoint

maybe they have pounded it in his head not to make a mistake. a sack is better than an int kinda deal to the point that it has backfired and he is scared to let it rip.

it seems to me that his issues are very fixable or maybe its just me hoping that.

Not as much as you'd think, because we had trouble moving the ball against MSU and a weak UGA defense.

I'll give UF some credit, but our offense just isn't that good so far this year.

The Florida D is great. The Alabama defense is just as good if not better and the Ole Miss defenses is right behind them. I think people are worried our offense won't be able to do anything against these teams. Given our track record this year, we won't.

We only scored 16 offensive points against MSU, struggled against a weak ULL team, only scored 20 on a horrible UGA defense, and did not even show up for the Florida game. I don't care what defense you are playing, scoring 3 points is down right embarrassing.

There is a trend here. It starts with the QB. I know the Oline has not been great but our QB play this year has been below average. Any mistake the offensive line makes is magnified by Jefferson's lack of pocket presence and inability to find the open man.

the "light bulb" hasn't clicked on yet IMHO. he seems uncomfortable at times. of course, florida would make a lot of qb's uncomfortable. sooner or later, he will relax more and be able to execute using his innate athletic ability. hopefully, it will be in the auburn game.

That made Crompton from UTe (who is a pick six kind of guy normally) look like Drew Brees a week after totally stifling us.

one thing never changes in the SEC,,, the teams that can pound the rock win the games. Get back to running the ball and maybe JJ can take a look down field

Cannot run the ball when 8 to 10 guys are hanging in to fill in the holes. Nobody, NOT ONE team, fears us burning them deep. There will never be a running game, until we can get the secondary to back away from the line on the snap.

maybe we have to run from the spread? I don't know, I can tell you that the coaches do not have it as easy as the ranters think it is

Holding him back? you obviously haven't checked the record.

his stats are impressive - 63% completion rate with 7 tds and 3 int. that doesn't sound to me like he's being held back.
