Why do people not like this kid? No he is not going to light it up and ball out. But he does so much good for our team. He leads by example. He doesn’t make many mistakes. His biggest problem is his tendency to hesitate and double hitch throws. If our O-line gave him better protection, he might would complete more passes. But overall I have liked what I have seen from this kid. It could always be worse. He could have the name Jefferson and be wearing a number 9......

It's not that people don't like him. He floats every throw that he makes and he tends to miss wide open receivers. He seems like a great kid, but he lacks the physical tools to be an elite qb in SEC.

Nobody dislikes him. He plays hard and is tough as nails.
But if we are being honest, an average high school QB would have hit DW on that long pass.
And Danny missed at least 3 wide open passes like that today.

Etling can take every snap this year except for bama game and it wouldn't bother me. Etling hasn't earned the right to have another chance vs bama.

You really need to watch game film. Dude made a ton of mistakes this game. Only thing he did good today was run hard but even then most of the time waited too long to do that.

The bottom line is that Danny boy is not a good QB. point blank period. Game, set match. He is no better than the usual run of the mill types that have dominated the tenure of Les Miles.
