Idk about touch. He can tend to float the ball sometimes putting to much "touch"

He is exactly what a team with our talent needs, a good game managing QB with average skill set. He isn't gong to turn heads with amazing throws or anything like that but we don't needs that.

Part of LSU's problem at times has been putting the most physically gifted or strongest armed QB out there and trying to make it work when they should have been playing the QB who can make the simple throws. Etling does that and then some.

He's adequate given the talent elsewhere, but if we could trade up for 2013 Mett or 2006 Jamarcus, that would be pretty sweet too.

Etling had a solid October.

LSU was 8th in the country in total offense in October. They were 20th nationally in passer rating in October with 25 attempts/game.

So he was a big part of that. Ensminger also helped turn that around.

I think he is good pocket awareness wise but he has taken a few shots , not even from the blind side.

He's done a great job taking over. He has become the starter and has a new HC, OC and QBcoach. That's a lot to manage.

We are similar to Alabama in terms of not needing an outstanding quarterback but Bama has one now, when we get our outstanding quarterback, we will be unstoppable. Shout out to Brennan and Narcisse.

Pocket awareness....what pocket? Mett sacked 4 times IN A ROW vs ALA 2013 including 4th and 28 with the game totally out of reach at 38-17...what was the point of injuring Mett?

In November the O-line vs ALA and ARK has been vaporized by mismatches, injuries, and lack of Tempo. ALA subbed 2.5 Defensive Groups, both on the field at the same time while LSU was sending in the play.

Ala: Harris sacked 5 times, hit 8 times, hurried on 50% of dropbacks, 3 injuries. Then sacked 5 more times vs ARK. Faced 3rd and 8+ yds on 18 of 25 3rd downs in those games.

Etling had a solid October. Kind of expected.

LSU was 8th in the country in total offense in October. They were 20th nationally in passer rating in October with 25 attempts/game.

Harris had a better October, including FLA: 13th nationally in Passer Rating (166) with 20 atts/gm, 7 TDs O Ints, vs Etling's 4 TDs and 2 Ints.

I'm calling bullshite on this mentality. What's wrong with needing/wanting a stud QB that can do it all. That's what I need

BTW I think Etling's doing a fantastic job for us

He's got great body language, doesn't dwell on bad plays or dropped balls. Always picks his guys up and looks forward to the next play. Tough as nails. He's confident pre snap and plays much calmer than the last couple of guys we've had at QB. Really can't ask for more from a transfer in his situation. I'm a fan.

His ability to move in the pocket without getting flushed out is impressive. Seems our last 2 QB's just hauled arse out of the pocket at the first sign of pressure

I know I'm stating the obvious, but it's still difficult to read some of this stuff..

Do I want a stud QB? Sure
Do I think this team needs a stud QB to be good? No
