"The way my program looks at LSU right now is they have two losses, but they lost to Mississippi State and Auburn," said Billingsley, a stress-management expert from Hugo, Oklahoma, who still publishes his ratings online. "Conceivably, LSU could be the fourth-best team in the country. They have LSU at No. 19. I'm surprised the committee didn't look more closely at LSU's games. To me, they're a better team than a lot of the teams ranked ahead of them."

Just a hunch but I'm going to go really far out on a limb here and say these weren't the same people.
And we should be ranked higher than 19. Does it matter whether we are 15-16 or 19? Probably not. But we should be higher than 19.

If we get smoked by BAMA, they will throw us to the curb. Wont matter, win the one you are about to play.

well, LSU is better than about 12-15 of the teams ranked ahead of it.

We are getting screwed at 19. People forget this isn't just about playoffs. These rankings count towards what bowl we end up in. If we lose to BAMA do we fall out of the rankings all together after losing to three top 4 teams (BAMA will be there by the time we play them b/c of OM -Auburn this week)and beating another top 4 team? After the way this season started, if this team ends up 9-3, you don't think they deserve a little more than the Tax Slayer bowl?
Look at it like this. Say you replace the 7 SEC West members with NFL teams and all the rest of College Football stays the same. Those NFL teams play out the season and one or more of them would have to end up with two plus losses. That doesn't mean that the 3 loss team isn't better than every other team in college football not in its division. The SEC West isn't the NFL ofcurse but it is the best division in college football. The third or fourth team in the west would compete for a Championship in any other conference. Why are we getting penalized for that?

Good God...
LSU should be mid/upper teens (which it is in all polls one way or another).
If they beat Bama, I suspect they'd make a BIG move in all polls.

The fact that these polls are 100% committee based will probably mean that they correct themselves. If the entire media lashes out at something one week, its conceivable that they correct it the next week.

Need to and have to beat BAMA bottom line. Then he and everyone else can say we need to be higher. Hell like someone noted a few weeks ago me and many others were not sure if we could win an SEC game.

Because it's PC, sports media style. To appear fair to all you have to actually be unfair and give a certain number of other teams a higher albeit undeserved ranking.

You people are missing the bigger picture of the problem that will always be. A 2 loss SEC is most often going to be a better team than half the numb nuts in other conferences with 1 loss. Fact is they say competition matters and head to head matters and all that shite but they won't have the balls to say that a 2 loss SEC team is better than lets say a 1 loss Ohio St team or some shite.

Well we have won 3 sec games in a row and defeated the number 3 ranked team in the country. That should be enough to change somebody mind.
