I agree that he's not coming. He's got a pretty successful program built at ND, and they play in the premier basketball conference in the country.

Brey's only connection is that he played college ball at Northwestern St. Otherwise, he really has no connections to Louisiana and especially LSU. He's an east coast guy who has built a consistent winner at Notre Dame. The goofballs at The Advocate have thrown his name out there every time the job has come up. I just don't see the connection.

I think you are thinking of Tony Bennett at UVA. His wife is a BR native. He's building a potential powerhouse at UVA and has no real connection to Louisiana other than his wife. I just don't LSU being in anyway attractive to him

He went to NW St. in Natchitoches and Worsham says his wife went to LSU.

There's also, if you consider this a good thing, a Duke/Alleva connection.

This is different from football! Coach O was on staff and did a hell of a job! No one took over for Johnny and so the race is open

"Ok, Joe you promised them a big name coach. How about Stansbury? 9 letters make it a bigger name than any other coach in the SEC. Even Calipari is only 8! Damn you're a genius!"

Forbes isn't going to be around ETSU long. I think he's too well connected in coaching circles to remain a "secret". He had to get the stink off of him from the Pearl/Tenn. fiasco, but the guy can flat out recruit and he has delivered results on the court.

If LSU strikes out on bigger names they could do FAR worse than Forbes. I think he's going to be a power conf. HC sooner rather than later. If LSU has to go to the mid-major ranks to get a coach, he should be the guy

At least the loser attitudes of our athletic director and most of the fan base is justified in the basketball hiring process.

I was wondering what John Goodman was doing talking about LSU basketball.

I almost don't want a big name. I want a young coach who has "the right stuff" to build a long term winner. Coach K, Jim Boehiem, Bobby Knight, Brad Stevens, Billy Donavan were all young guys (early 30s) when they were hired by colleges.
