For years, ESPN made Miles out as a bovine fool because just before a brilliant 4th down fake on his way to tie up the series lead against Saban, he picked up a single blade of grass and stuck it in his cheek for good luck or just because he was feeling the moment and said why not.

Surely, the jokesters at ESPN will treat an Alabama coach and Saban disciple with the same irreverent tone that they did with Miles by placing plates of sod in front of him any time he took the time to visit their studios or feature him in commercials drinking grass smoothies.

Yeah, Miles played along at first because that's the kind of guy he is. But years later, to be continually questioned about how grass tastes in different stadiums in every single interview he ever did, certainly just was because ESPN enjoyed making him answer for it over and over.

Surely a grown man eating a booger on national TV is worth as much comedy and constant irreverence, right?

Can't wait for the hilarity to ensue!!!!

I think everyone enjoyed that little gimmick, including Les. And everyone credited Miles with outcoaching Saban after the 2010 game. I don't know what you're talking about.

Forgotten fact:

Dinardo used to chew the grass in Tiger Stadium as well.

I remember during periods in the game, he used to just walk down the sideline to where no one else was, crouch down, pick a blade and chew on the end. I never understood why everyone made such a big deal about Miles doing it.

Don't watch the game if you are expecting that. You will be disappointed. LOL

The Alabama OC got caught eating a booger in their semifinal game.

frick Alabama and ESPN. Was that not clear?

And yeah like another poster said, it isn't even that uncommon. Check out any outfielder at any level of baseball.

Ever see a farmer chewing on a weed?

Let's make jokes and commercials because this dude wears a hat!! Journalism!!

AND he wasn't a coach when he ate his boogers and wasn't allowed to have any input during games...that didn't stop him from having a headset on. I'm sure he was just listening out of curiosity and didn't utter a single word the entire game.
