ESPN SUX-World wide leader my arse

Man ESPN sux.
They've been shunning the Cotton Bowl all year. I know their competition FOX is going to be broadcasting it, so they don't want to give them any free publicity. I understand that, but if they are supposed to be 'the sports leader', or whatever they call themselves, they should take it on the chin and at least mention it.
I'm watching Mike and Mike and they have talked about the Go Daddy bowl twice, but nothing about the Cotton. I figured the day of the game they would have to at least mention it.

It's nothing personal, it's just a joke that they started out reporting aand covering ANYTHING sports related. Now, it's all about promoting their own.
It just makes them look petty.

Um, they will report on and cover the LSU game.
Why in the world would they heavily promote a game on an opposing network?
Have you seen Fox running commercials for any of the ESPN games?

I wouldn't get mad at Mike and Mike though. Usually they [espnradio] can talk about whatever they want. I've heard Cowherd take shots at ESPN on espnradio.

This. Fox has heavily promoted this Bowl Game. All the attention on the Fox network is the Cotton Bowl, while ESPN is trying to promote all of the other bowls. So the Fox coverage--focused on one game-- more than makes up for the lack of coverage on ESPN, which has to focus on a great number of games (many of which no one cares about).

No one is going to watch this game even if ESPN pumped it up all week. Really dumb move to lobby to get snubbed by well watched Cap One to play on a Friday Night AFTER the new years Bowl Push and the day before the NFL playoffs. Totally insane decision by our Sports admin.

2 other major bowls were on at the same time the Cap One was. What other bowl games is the Cotton Bowl competing with tonight?

Then the merger with CBS and it all turned political. ESPN has lost it's roots as a sports purists outlet.

I didn't say anything about promoting the game. I understand they will show the score to the game and sportcenter will have a clip or two. I just think it is disengenuous (sp) to tout themselves as the sports leader, and then not even mention the game.
And no, I'm not wearing my P&G butthurt glasses. I don't think that 'they hate us' or anything like that, but being a LSU fan, I notice the silence on the subject.

Huh ? It's nationally televised, by a broadcasting company (not cable). It will be in the top 3 watched bowl games

I miss the old CNN sports hour. ESPN is just promoting its own interests. CNN would even handedly report on all sports since it didn't have a dog in the hunt.

Man, you really don;t know squat about ratings and demographics if you believe this

They have mentioned the game on a few of the college gameday shows...or whatever that daily show of theirs is called.

Let me rephrase. I can't believe Mike and Mike is almost through with their daily show and they haven't mentioned the only football game that will played today.

It's the only game on tonight in the entire nation. Everyone's watching.
