"From 43 teams four weeks ago in the first 2017 installment of The Eliminator, we're down to 17...What, you might ask, to make of...LSU, long ago dispatched by The Eliminator?

...The Tigers lost to Troy; we haven't forgotten that unforgivable violation. And they dropped a 30-point decision to Mississippi State. We'll admit, though, if coach Ed Orgeron orchestrates a win at Alabama this week, then takes down unbeaten Georgia in the SEC title game, his team could RISE FROM THE GRAVE."

Per ESPN

Not gonna happen. 1-loss Bama gets in in lieu of SEC champ, LSU.

Bama losses are dismissed as flukes. They beat themselves despite being the obviously better team.

Also, dont forget that when other teams lose at home its considered a fatal sin, but when Bama does it it's not a big deal.

Obviously there is no way that LSU gets in over a 1-loss Alabama. This hypothetical is only interesting if you start with the assumption that either: (1) Alabama is one of four teams and you are discussing LSU's likelihood in taking one of the other 3 playoff spots, or (2) Alabama drops another game somehow.

I have a different take on this: if Bama were in fact to lose to LSU, then that proves they're overrated and would likely lose another game as well, probly to Auburn. That might kill two birds w/ one stone: keep both the Tigers and Bama out of the playoffs.
