Bama, UGA, Auburn, Miss St., & S. Carolina made the list from the SEC. I like underdog status, but damn we're going to shock some people after that Week 1 beatdown of Miami.

BTW: The U in at No. 9

Man I want us to just stomp Miami into a messy pulp. I hope we beat the ever living crap out of them and the team reaches their full potential this year. Here’s to a great year

It's crazy how undervalued this team is. But we have the opportunity to prove all the ney-sayers wrong. I really hope LSU comes out slapping teams in the mouth.

I really dgaf!

Would some preseason love feel warm and fuzzy, sure. But I'd rather go stomp every team and take respect.

Maybe they assume the team with a head coach that has the highest odds of getting fired will not have a great season.

Not surprising... O has a terrible reputation as a head coach. Only way to get respect is to earn it. O has to put all the pieces together, execute on game days and win. Period. That's his recipe for respect...

It can only serve to benefit this team to be surrounded by so much doubt. I hope they don't crack the top 25 until after the 3-0 start tbh.

Just shows the amount of doubt in Os ability to run a program. It's all up to him to change it this year.

That's exactly right. LSU just isn't going to get much preseason love from any objective source. Good thing the preseason prognostications don't mean shite.

Is it?

You have a team coming off a good, but not great year, who has to replace their starting QB, top two RB's, top two WR's, and two veteran starters on the OL. Combine that with the fact that they have a new OC who hasn't been a full time OC in 20 years and a HC who only has one winning season (last year) in his entire career as a HC.

That's not said to bash LSU or suggest they can't have a great 2018 season. But I don't see how it's "crazy" that LSU is not being highly touted in preseason predictions when simply just looking at the objective facts.

O, Ensminger, and this team have to earn national respect. They aren't just going to be given it because of the success of past teams/coaches.

Yeah I mean honestly I’m shocked at this and it’s pretty dumb.

Even as a huge O doubter there is zero reason a team with this defense under Aranda will be or should be unranked.

We went fricking 9-4 (6-2) and finished like 18 and now they think we shouldn’t be ranked??

I’m going to put my tinfoil hat on because I have a sneaking suspicion that O and Prince are quietly pumping negative info out there to all media outlets so that if this team coasts along to another 3 or 4 loss season they can tout it as some big overachievement instead of the same mediocre shite we’ve dealt with for years.

When Marcus Spears is all over SECN talking about us being a 6 loss team, AND BEING OK WITH IT saying the coach just needs more time, something is very very off and I don’t like it one bit.

Yes. Recently-released internal memorandums show a pattern within ESPN's corporate headquarters centered around a concerted effort aimed at disparaging and smearing LSU's athletic department at all costs. These were orders coming from the top. Really sick stuff.

Well said and 100% accurate, but some clown is going to come along and say you hate Orgeron and want him to fail.

If it was your job to assess 100 college football teams before fall practice started, what about LSU from a high level would lend you to believe they will have a good team this year?

1. There is a wide open race between 3 people at QB in which none of them have shown anything special (yet) at the college level.
2. There is no RB on the team that any non LSU fan will recognize. This is coming after many years of producing NFL starting caliber players.
3. I think a majority of LSU fans would honestly have a hard time naming 3 WRs on the team. I'm just talking about a typical fan. Not a guy that regularly posts on here. That's how unknown that position is.
4. The o-line lost a few guys.
5. The d-line lost Key. I know he had a shitty year last year, but he was a known player
6. The secondary will have to replace 2 CBs that left early for the NFL.
7. The O-coordinator is a guy nobody was after in the offseason.

The only strengths non LSU fans know about are Dave Aranda, Devin White, and Greedy Williams.

That's what most people see from a high level. I can see LSU finishing in the top 15 at the end of the year. I could also see us being out of the top 25 at the end of the year. There is a ton of stuff to address to have a competent team.
