We have no reliable point guard or center going into next season.

Did Patterson or quarterman transfer or declare? Dumb comment.

People seem to argue a lot about the definition of a point guard. I agree with those who think it is someone who does more than dribble the ball up court.

Point guard is the position that can make things happen in a half court game. The main thing is to put your teammates in position to score and make them better players. Quarterman can do that sometimes but to me his ball handling is too sloppy and he is not quite quick enough. His decision making when he drives is questionable and his passing can be quite lazy. Patterson never drives and dishes. He simply waits on the perimeter for a three point try. That is a shooting guard and not a point guard.

Even if we get Malik Newman, which I think is questionable, he is the very definition of not reliable point guard because he has never played the position in college. Also he was more of a score first guard in high school. He can perhaps be developed into a college point guard but it will take time and a lot of learning on his part.

Believe me y'all are going to be thrilled with CVictor

Perhaps and perhaps not. Mickey, despite how he played the last games of the season, is big shoes to fill. Every year I see every new player we get has his praise sung. Until they get on the court you just don't know. If you want some evidence of this, go back a couple of years and read how everyone thought Odo was the next coming of Bill Russell (do you know who that is?) and then look at what he actually did which was almost nothing.
