ESPN commentator made a comment about Cam Cameron just now...

...in the Chargers/Broncos game.
So it's 4 wide with Melvin Gordon on left side at rb next to QB. He ran an inside angle route while the other 4 WR ran to the outside to leave him 1on1 with the LB whom he beats for a TD. Anyways, the announcer says, "we all call that the Cam Cameron route."
With that said, when the hell did he ever spread the field and run that route to his RB? LEONARD FOURNETTE.
It was like this route, however the left RB and TE are spread wide. Cam struggled getting his playmakers the ball in space. Regardless, it's funny that the ESPN credits Cam for that play that many coaches have run for a long time.
Edit: couldnt find a photo better than that. (Wasnt going to spend 20min finding the exact play)

Yes I heard it and thought to myself....how the hell did he ever make it to the NFL???

That's in the secret playbook Les Miles was saving for the right moment.

Cam Cameron's playbook was never the issue, it was playcalling and QB development under MiLes that was

I used to dominate in Madden with that play alone

It's a video game. You can dominate in Madden with a fricking toss dive literally every play if you wanted.
. . . Wait? Did Les own a PlayStation? I may have just figured something out.

LSU ran it a bit in 2013
They ran in against Alabama in 2015 and Fournette was wide open at midfield and probably would have scored but Harris just missed him.

Off the top of my head at Alabama in 2015. Harris didn't make a particularly good throw and it went off of Fournette's hands. Would have been a huge play, if not a TD.

I'm just curious, who developed Russell, Flynn and Mett?

Im sure he called it down quite a few times, but Les would hit him with.......I think we can get them with the toss dive this time!

He ran it with Jeremy Hill when we played against Georgia . Mett hit Hill and stride twice . It was pretty effective . Didn't see it much after .

You know that "commentator" is Rex Ryan

Russell and Flynn were developed under Jimbo
Mett in UGA and JUCO

Cam Cameron was responsible for QB development. Playcalling was shite but I refuse to believe that Cameron wasnt calling the majority of the plays. The guy was washed up.

Dude, Cam Cameron has been fired from like his last 6 jobs, and he wasn't fired for being a total badass. It's a joke Les hired his bffl and made him the highest paid assistant in the game, plain and simple.

We set offensive records with Ensminger calling plays from Cam's playbook. They play designs were not the problem.
I remember several times last year thinking "wow, great play call," and knowing that it was something we never would have done with the previous staff. Who knows for what reason

That play doesn't allow you to attack a defense at its strength and make them bend.
