They listed Dorsey and PP7 on their list. Weird though that they said Dorsey was picked number 1 overall in the draft.

quote:

DT: Glenn Dorsey, LSU (2004-07) -- Dorsey had a tremendous senior season during the Tigers' run to the '07 national championship. Dorsey won the Lombardi, Outland and Nagurski trophies, was a unanimous All-American and was named the SEC defensive player of the year. He also was the top overall pick in the following NFL draft.

quote:

CB: Patrick Peterson, LSU (2008-10) -- Peterson was college football's most dynamic cornerback/returner since Bailey. On top of ranking in the top 10 nationally in kick and punt returns his junior year, Peterson earned the Bednarik and the Thorpe Award, given to the nation's top defensive back. He also was a unanimous All-American and the SEC defensive player of the year.

If you're gonna give each guy's best season stats and awards he won, I have a hard time seeing how Tyrann is left off. His 2011 was phenomenal, and he was pretty productive in 2010, so it's not like it was a fluke. Suspensions be damned, he was as impactful as any DB in the bcs era. And I'm a huge Champ and PP7 fan.

if anything he should've been put at PR or made a special defensive athlete category. they put bush at PR but list more of his runningback play than PR play.

Considering champ Bailey played one year in the BCS and his stats pale.in comparison to TM7. Tyrann should be in over him.

I'd weigh the one yr in the BCS against Champ moreso than his stats. Back then there were only 11 regular season games, and bowl games didn't factor I to season totals.

Also, Champ's 98 season was pretty underrated IMO. He wasn't just some gimmick on offense, he was a 50 catch WR. He either led the team in catches or missed by a couple. In a pro style offense. While also being the best CB in the country. Think about that for a minute.

Nick Fairley had a more dominant final season than Dorsey in either of his final two

Fairley didn't have the celebration dance Dorsey did though. That's what out him over.

Jimmies will inevitably rustled and there are always legitimate arguments to be made (Cam 2010 was better than Leinart in any year, but not over a career), but everyone on that list deserves to be there.

Not a bad list. No obvious issues with it. Several QBs could've gotten it but Leinart is a fine pick.

Dorsey had a much better Junior season. He was a monster.

His Senior season was injury plagued.

He basically won all of those awards after his Senior year for how he played during his Junior season.

Dorsey was an absolute animal before Chaz Ramsey happened. Piece of shite.
