Had A&M shutout through 7 and was let down by relief staff. Strong performance against Florida. Masterful performance against Arkansas. Doesn't have a dominant fast ball but changes speed and location like a seasoned master. He's a fricking freshman! Yeah, he's gotten some respect and accolades, but IMO not nearly enough. I love to watch him pitch. Reminds me a a little of Coleman in his senior year.

Judging by the threads made today and yesterday I would say he is very much appreciated.

He's our best pitcher at this time and it's not close really. The kid can PITCH if he could some how gain 5 mph he would be an absolute dog out there! LSU needs strong arm pitchers with his control in the worst way. They also need to keep Cooms, Wholey, and Romero in the darn lineup!

I think people are quickly catching onto how good he is. Especially for a freshman. He reminds me a bit of Kyle Hendricks. Not overpowering stuff but good location and knows how to use the pitches he has

He's better than good , especially for a freshman pitching against SEC hitters. I acknowledged he gets talked about, but suggested maybe not enough given the performance and poise he's shown as a freshman. Gotcha.

Coleman threw gas, he's basically a clone of Chris Cotton.

Walker would not have pitched 9th if Gilbert wasn't sick.

Not to be an arse, but what other respect or accolades does he deserve? Did he not just win SEC pitcher of the week? He gets tons of love on tRant too from my view.

Why does he need more speed? If he can hit his spots & make the ball dance like he does he'll be fine. Maybe Lange should take 5 mph off & he could hit his spots more often. Not all great pitchers are power pitchers

All due respect, but if he keeps dicing up SEC power lineups like he has recently, kid won't see his senior year. He's got the ability and personality to go on a very Nola-like trajectory.

He may be in the minors already if he had another 5mph. I prefer the guy who throws 86 and can control it, over the guy who throws 94 and cant.

Also think he is getting plenty of love here. Some of us compared him to nola after his first start or two

Definitely, one of the few bright spots this year.

Hopefully he can turn into a Friday/Saturday guy next year.

He's been amazing. We appreciate the heck out of him.

A drafted senior pitcher and freshman all-American (pitching his last season with us), may overshadow Walker, but he's far from under appreciated. Walker is our future ace.

This. What was Greg Maddox's fast ball, 88 tops? There are stories that when he first started in the minors he could bring it into the mid 90's. Dude could paint the corners on command with every pitch he had and his ball had unbelievable movement. That is why he was so good. You don't have to be a flame thrower.
