Canada's offense

Ensminger's Offense

Keep in mind this isn't an apples to apples comparison. In 2016, we had LF7 AND Guice. The disparity is staggering...

See...the thing is...this isn't Ensminger's offense. It's Cam Cameron's offense they had been running for years, but instead of Cam calling plays Steve was.

And yes...he did an admirable job of calling plays out of Cam's playbook. But can we stop pretending he was running "his" offense?

ETA: Tell you what...if you can go find video from his stint at Clemson during the tail end of the Clinton Administration that would be the last time Ensminger was running "his" offense. At this point, we literally have no clue what he's actually going to be running here. In the 21st Century.

The one consistent thing I see in both videos is bad QB play. Overthrown balls, throwing behind receivers, missing open wide receivers. It doesn't matter what offense we have. If we can't develop better QB play we aren't going to get anywhere.

Agreed. I see plenty of open receivers in both games, but there were a ton of missed throws. Leonard also missed the hole a few times in 2016 because it's like he was just trying to prove a point by hitting people in the mouth. I can't believe Guice only got 2 snaps in that game.

Exactly. If we convert a few 3rd downs and hit a couple more passes in both games we win both.

No. Just, no. When you get shutout, you have ZERO chance to win. Don’t let logic get in your way.

Canada's offense

I forgot how God-awful Etling's deep ball was that game.

What makes it crazier is it was so much improved from last year in pretty much every single other game we played, EXCEPT bama.

And this year was AT Bama

I had my criticism of Canada but I thought we had a nice plan for Bama. We were able to make runs outside the tackles and have them off balance at times, except we couldn't make a pass over 10 yards

Unless SE can develop QB's I don't see how you people expect a better offense. We dont have two or 1 first rounder Rb on roster rn

Technically it could go to OT. Where you can win on a FG. Just sayin.

How many deep balls did we miss this year? Especially at the beginning of the year. Seemed like it was dialed up at the right time but something would always go wrong.

No denying that we had the better game plan this year, but there were definitely plays to be made in both games. I will say that we were terrible inside the 10 yard line this year, though. It seemed like we constantly struggled to put the ball in the endzone from the goal line this year.

I thought Canada had many brilliant calls this season. He really kept Bama off balance and gave us our best chance to win.

Canada had a limited offensive line and limited QB. Next season will still have offensive line issues and a QB very raw who didn't know the playbook for a few simple plays he was called to run.

I actually thought Canada did a very good job with the offense, but again some execution issues hurt. Etling made some bad throws and Chark lost the ball in flight one time on a sure TD.

Up until the point it was clear Canada was being removed I wanted O and Canada to mend fences.

The 2016 game LF was not 100% and Guice should have run more. That is squarely on the coaches. There was a deep pass inside the 10 that the WR caught but didn't drag his foot which would have been at least a FG if not TD drive. There were a lot of missed opportunities in that game, but OL play was worlds better in the 2017 game. I hate to single out a player, but Malone was a huge liability.

Wouldn’t it be terror to compare Georgia when they had Eric Zaier as their QB?

That was a darn good offense if I do recall.
