Enjoying a win does not equate to sunshine pumping

BYU was a game everyone expected to win but it's how LSU won which was a pleasant surprise. We didn't go pass happy or show them much offensively but looked in firm control with no mental errors of the past. The defense looked better than expected. The young guys looked good and hungry.
Doesn't mean we're a playoff team or elite yet. But there's positivity and optimism that I haven't experienced around here since 2011.

There's no problem with pumping sunshine when there's sunshine to pump.
There is.
What got really fricking old was the sunshine pumping when they had to seriously twist facts or make shite up to make everyone believe things were great.
It's only one game, but damn it's nitpicking to complain right now.

Because being miserable and seeing nothing but disaster is what makes some of you tick?
For the rest of us what is wrong with celebrating a win? The Tigers won you idiot. Be happy. (If you can)

I'm confused, as I stay away from this board during and immediately after for the most part, but were there people complaining about Saturday's game?

In case you haven't been reading this board the last 2 days, yes it was necessary.

I think you have to look at the fan base in general and this board in particular as a Bell curve.
There will be some on one extreme who always complain. There will be some on the other extreme who always praise. Then there are tons in the middle who judge what they see as well as their varied abilities allow.

A couple examples of 'player leadership during adversity' and we'll all be sold.

Nothing "sunshine pumping" about completing over 80% of our pass attempts. That was huge and all I needed to see.
Those 15 receptions would have taken 25+ attempts in the tail end of the miles era. We would be thrilled going 15 for 27 while also rushing for ~300 yards. Well it only took us 18 attempts to get that same production Saturday so it just feels like we didn't air it out
At the end of the day whatever play Canada called, it worked. So much better then when it was literally painful to watch us try and move the ball through the air.

That's right. What we have right now is hope. We had lost that, and now it is exciting to look forward to what could be. It just feels great to have some optimism for a change. Whoever doesn't like it can go run up the road.
