Embrace being the villain y’all

I know this isn’t a wholly original thought on the Rant, but we should embrace the fact that the media has been doing everything in their power to paint us as the bad guys for the past few years.
People are naturally envious of success, because they feel threatened for their own status. These talking heads are pissed that Notre Dame lost their established coach because it hurts their bottom line if the Irish are bad with the NBC contract, and ESPN already has power stories with Alabama and their favorite underdog story Texas A&M. We are redundant to them if we reach Alabama levels of success.
Other schools are mad that we will make good on O’s promise to beat their butts at recruiting and on the field. We are going to take their recruits and hurt their position in football. It’s a cutthroat league; we are here to win.
Who cares if they make everyone think we are cheaters? We know we are playing by the rules, they’re just mad that we’re winning at their expense.
Roll with the hate, let’s ride with Kelly/Wade/Johnson. They hate us cuz they ain’t us

Envious of what success? One title in the last decade+? Not discounting that accomplishment but that doesn’t exactly put LSU among the elites of today. Alabama, Clemson, Ohio St. Either winning the title or being in the playoff consistently. I’ll never understand how LSU started thinking of themselves as college football royalty. The hardware doesn’t reflect that. Successful overall? Yes. Among the top programs ever? Hardly

It’s really not up for debate that LSU has been among the best handful of programs of the last 20 years. 3 national titles with 3 different coaches.
