The big issue with Epps at the 4 or 5 right now is his strength or lack there of. He'll get pushed around easily. The only way would to be play zone and have someone big in the middle and that isn't really something LSU is comfortable with as they tried it earlier in the year to limited success. He'll get his chance at some point this season though. Still plenty of time to play. I'm sure he needs to prove it in practice first though.

He has problems running the floor. In HS, his team would run a good bit while he stayed on 1 side of the floor. He also came in overweight.
He's going to be a quality C IMO once he gets his conditioning up and his weight down.

Epps with the only one of that trio who has any game. He needs to be inserted and get some seasoning. The other two are worthless. Elbert is two years away from seeing the floor.

Tuba wasn't worth anything until he was a 22 year old senior after THREE years in the system.
Robinson is a freshman.
HUGE difference.

Elbert Robinson question
Is he hurt?
he is slow
as
dirt. but seriously, he needs to get alot better before he can contribute. he is slow of foot and looks really uncoordinated out there. not a good combo for a basketball player

At this point you need wins, Elbert does not help you get wins right now
A 7 man rotation will get this team to the NCAA tourney
Even Calipari would rather play 6/7 instead of the 9 he has to make happy

Okay? And? Tuba > Elbert at this stage in the game. Not saying elbert won't be better in the end, I wrote at this stage.

[quote]Give Elbert another year to improve his athleticism/endurance and he could play a big part in next year's squad.

Agree he will get there. Often when young athletes lose a ton of weight in a hurry, as was the case with ER, they lose some of their strength as well. DM is a better fit for minutes just now but Epps and Robinson have a lot of upside.
