Eight games into the season and LSU and Bama have zero common opponents...

Miss State is the only ranked team that Alabama has played...and Miss State has only beaten one team with a winning record (Middle Tenn State at 5-3).

Meanwhile, LSU has played three ranked teams (Florida, South Carolina and Texas A&M), with two of them being on the road...we went 2-1.

Really hard to compare these two teams on paper, due to the major differences in their respective schedules to date.

Obviously, Alabama is a good team, but based on what?

Haven't had a game within 3 touchdowns yet?

LSU struggled with Towson and Auburn.

It's gonna be interesting.

LSU has played a couple of really good defenses.

Alabama hasn't played a defense remotely in the same ballpark as LSU.

Can't use Towson as a measuring stick. LSU slept through that game. Nobody cared about it, including the players.

LSU winning at Auburn (and vise versa) has always been tough no matter how good or bad the two teams were.

They are a good team based on their reputation and coach, but are not unbeatable as many think they are.

I think the big difference is that Bama has crushed everyone they played this year.

I agree. Alabama's number 1 ranking is a little undeserved in my opinion. Kansas State has demolished oklahoma, west virginia, and Texas Tech. Notre Dame at least beat Oklahoma and held them to 13.

Obviously, Alabama is a good team but they were propelled to number 1 based off of there win against Michigan and now it's obvious Michigan is terrible.

I mean the SEC office wanted to give Alabama a cupcake schedule so they would go undefeated. Let them pay for that weak schedule.

Bama has but that's part of the OP's point, the competition is ? ? ?

I think Bama is great and it's not altogether their fault that the competition has been what it's been. Nonetheless, Sat night should be a big step up in competition for them.

Even when auburn is 1-7? In sec play and is getting dismantled by every other opponent. Auburn became world beaters against us? Lamest excuse, try harder
