Are you counting Mathieu as a Safety?

Either way, there hasn't been a more impactful DB at LSU in decades (maybe ever) than him. He was a complete game changer

TM7 was a game changer in ways I've never seen another safety be capable of.

I never get worked up over "The best _____" lists.

All I know is that if you list the 5 best Safeties ever at LSU and we are 'schoolyard picking' teams...I'll agree to go LAST and whoever is left is a fricking stud.

I'm going to enjoy Delpit while he is here and anticipate enjoying another one when he goes to the league.

He said better than EVERYONE including himself.

Not a better athlete or better pro, but playing the best safety EVER at LSU.

Obviously the people downvoting know and Watch a lot more than Ryan Clark.

Not saying he’s right, but scoffing at the people that chastised others who said he was....

I don’t know about the best. I said during the Miami game, he had TM7 knack for the ball with Jamal Adams talent. The play he made on the fake field goal is an all time play. His ability to recognize a fake. Then realize white had the releasing back. then turn around and keep the runner from getting outside, was one very special play.

Are you out of your damn mind?

What rantard rags on Delpit? Next to White, Burrow and Tracy, he is perhaps the most universally adored player on the team.

Tm7 was a corner at LSU that blitz. He was not a safety at LSU. He played safety for the cardinals

No I’m not, but Ryan Clark must be....

He should get off of the ESPN broadcast more and learn from the rantards.

What a damn idiot.

Delpit is phenomenal. LSU has had some great ones and TM is the biggest playmaker I've ever seen on an LSU D, but Delpit is climbing in the ladder with everything he does across the board.

We do have Greedy and Fulton back there too though and that helps things a hell of a lot. But Delpit has what TM had - phenomenal instincts. You can't teach that.

Technically he was a nickel back but we’re splitting hairs here

I was privileged enough to see Casanova at corner and return punts and see Mathieu at safety. Both played a hybrid type of role except Candanova was much bigger than Mathieu. Greedy, if he is a legit 6’3” is about an inch taller, but I suspect he really isn’t taller at all. I couldn’t find the pic of Tommy with all the DBs from a few years back.
However, Mathieu and Casanova separate themselves from the best to all time greats. The only issue with Mathieu is the amount of time he played. Otherwise he sets the SEC record for forced fumbles and likely has a stupid number of punt returns for TDs.
