Did he actually make Deichmann the Cintas POG? 2 for 4, 2 Es (could be 3). Didn't Dup go 2 for 2, with 2 walks?

Probably for breaking up the shutout but I feel you. Someone needs to replace Deichmann in the lineup. He can DH but man is he bad in the field. Should have had 3 errors tonight but Brian Lazarre is an idiot.

I had the post game on driving home from the game and I thought Thompson said Duplantis was the Offensive Player of the Game getting on base all four of his plate appearances and Deichman had the play of the game with the rbi base hit in the ninth inning. I didn't hear him say Deichman was the Player of the Game but that may have been said before I got to my car.

Btw, Deichman made one error, not two. Robertson and Freeman also made one error each.

Pap had a huge mental error in the second when the batter tried bunting for a safety squeeze, completely missed the ball, the runner on third was almost halfway to home hung out to dry and Pap threw to second trying to get the runner on first going to second. The runner on third went back to third. Everybody was safe. If Pap had thrown to third instead of second, the runner would have been, at worst, in a run down.

Diechmann made 2 errors, probably should've been 3.

And he was the Cintas Player of the Game

Duplantis was the offensive player of the game

How's that a mental laps? Unless it's a called play or someone warns him, the catcher isn't looking at 3B. There's no time. Should he have caught it? Yep. But he doesn't know it's a safety squeeze. In fact, that's not even the play call. It's a bunt and run (for the runner at 3B). 3B coach tells runner at 3rd to read down angle. So he gets a decent secondary. Also, some coaches call a fake bunt and run simply to get the bat in the vision of the catcher and making the ball tougher to see. Every now and then it works.

Officially, Deichmann only has 1 error in the box score... Bryan Lazzare strikes again.

Can't deny that Deichmann had 3 bad plays. But if it's not on paper or in a link or said in a CC meeting, it didn't happen.

Deichmann had one error. He's hitting over .300, leads the team in HR and is second in slugging. Stop trying to shite on him GT23
