97 national championship Skip moment.

Before the 97 championship game that year to keep the team loose, he comes in pregame with a cigar and proceeds to sit down and bs with the players and Skip and Danny Higgins started sharing the cigar back and forth. So what does Higgins do? Leads the game off with a homerun!

I was listening to that too. I thought it was pretty funny. This team does a pretty good job of keeping loose. If anything they will need to be reeled in. I don't think CPM will need any kind of antics like that.

I think the real pressure on this team was fighting through these regionals, now that they qualified I think a huge sigh of relief will help this team focus on the task at hand and play loose and care free with nothing to lose.

If Lange and Poche have that one two punch and the offense picks up, they could make a run!

if we score 4 runs a game in Omaha they might as well cancel the CWS

I find Paul Mainieri to be very uptight and I think it has an affect on the players. I think that's why the hitting falls off during the post season and why we've seen pitchers get in trouble during crunch time. We even saw uncharacteristic errors during the regional. When it gets down to those tense moments, everyone plays a bit tighter, pressing to make something happen.
