I've been a lifelong LSU fan, but I don't understand the constant Miles bashing. If anything, we should thank him for representing LSU in a first class manner and putting LSU on a level never seen before. Was it time for him to go, yes! All coaches are hired to be fired! Miles' biggest problem was he stayed too long. Can you say Mark Richt! In this age of major college football, you're not going to win every year and you need to know when to get out! Miles' stats are incredible and few coaches come close to even comparing.

Over 12 years, he won nearly 80 percent of games in the most brutal division in college football, not to mention easily the toughest overall conference.

He won a national championship! How many other LSU coaches - or any coaches for that matter - can stake claim to that!

Miles had SEVEN 10 Win seasons!

He won two SEC Championships - same as Urban Meyer!

He won almost 70 percent of his conference games!

He was 3-7 against Saban. Not impressive, unless you try and name other coaches who have beaten Saban three times.

LSU was never on probation or in the middle of a scandal!

Everything goes in cycles and Alabama is riding high right now, but it will eventually change. It was long ago that Auburn beat Alabama six straight times!

I know the idiots (believe me I live in Alabama and I can recognize one from a mile away) will come out with their sarcastic and stupid responses, but come talk to me when you find another LSU coach that is loyal for 12 years, wins a national championship and wins 80 percent of his games!

Again, was it time for him to leave? Yes! Does he deserve to be trashed like he has by some "so-called" LSU fans? No.

I'm excited about Coach O this coming season, but I'm not going to forget the incredible job Les Miles did for all of us. His complete body of work speaks for itself!

He has as many SEC titles as Mike Archer with way more talent and more years coached. Let that sink in.

It comes from the very vocal minority. Most fans appreciated Miles, but felt he had overstayed his effectiveness. I wish him nothing but the best.

Use the past as a reference not a residence. Learn from the past, don't live in the past. Live in the present and look forward to the future. Good advice in any situation. Very difficult to achieve!

I appreciated him as well as some of the others posting here. I won't bash him but will say he had his chance to make a nice run in 2016 but essentially told everyone to STFU and he would do it his way! Oh, and Imdid hold a grudge for those damn games that he essentially gave away to the other team because of being stubborn.

He is like everybody's favorite uncle and. Itching is wrong with that.

Screw Miles he wasted more talent than Dale Brown, by being a stubborn shortsighted jackass. He is the epitome of I'll do what I want, just to show you all I can. For all of his team first BS he put himself above the team and whole damn LSU p.rogram

So are they so-called fans or are they "so-called" fans and thus legitimate, loyal fans?

First of all the Miles bashing threads started on this board over recent weeks have been almost nil, so is your indignation real or just holier than thou bull shite that makes you feel better about you. What has tranpired with this LSU team the past 3 months proves beyond any DOUBT that Les Miles stubborn simpleton bull shite and half arse attempt at coaching was severly holding this program back and and mired in mediocrity. Further proof debunking the myth that Miles was a great recruiter will be delivered when coach o secures a top five recruiting class in his first year. Please don't start with this Miles bull shite because it can't end well for you brother. Let that fuk go and be forgotten asap.

I appreciated what Miles did, defended him at times, but when Ensminger took over the O and our O became fun to watch; I had to admit that Les Miles had let the O deteriorate and had no clue as to how to fix it.

I supported Miles for years, but he lost me at the end with several years of November disasters. Nov is when LSU makes or breaks. He also kept implying that he would upgrade the offense and then blatantly laughed in our faces with his actions. He should have changed with the times or bowed out gracefully. He did neither. He gets no sympathy from me. Also, it appears that most Miles threads lately have been started by Miles supporters.
