Huge traffic hold up from some high school sporting event in the park across from the observatory

why didn't they cancel the high school event???!!!!! Don't they know LSU is playing at home!!!!!!

Yeah I think so. Some sort of track event at any rate. People parked all along the road, some almost in the canals. People leaving & coming, buses, etc

The soccer fields on Burbank are packed but not impacting traffic at all. More space and better organization I guess.

Its happening every weekend...this isn't new. Traffic is slow, but it flows.
Track meet at Highland Road park, is what OP is referring to...its every weekend.
