we're like the redcoats - we march out in the wide open field in our bright red coats and stand there in the open. meanwhile the revolutionaries (their offense ) are hiding behind the trees practicing guerilla warfare and picking us off.

I mean, it's like miles plays by a "code" of football. you're not supposed to outsmart or outscheme the other team. just line up bravely with honor and execute.

i'm hoping we will just be smarter. we don't need to change our offense. we just need to be a little more creative, hit short passes, and dammit! do whatever it takes to move the chains.

The Bama games are more like WWWI, where we repeatedly send our guys out of the trenches and right into the mouth of an expectant machine gun nest only to pitifully get mowed down.

For me it's like slamming my head against a brick wall. Over and over again.

Pretty sure the last 3 years broke some LSU records offensively while Chief and Haley were fapping to 240 pounds DEs and 215 pound LBs

Les seems to only use the passing game when it is obvious which makes it harder to execute... usually on third downs when you really wand a high percentage of completions. Since the QB and receivers never get a chance to develop a rhythm, things just don't click at a high level.

For me, it's more like that smoking hot Bible beater in highschool who had all the goods but wouldn't use em.

Move to Lubbock and be a Texas Tech fan. You will have a constant chubby with the offense there.

Yes, for most of the LSU adult fan base as well.

The Les Miles Offense we all know and love works pretty well when it has a QB that can consistently accurately, effectively and efficiently throw a leather football into the hands of athletes that can catch it and then run fast.

Miles has shown he'll throw it when he has a QB that he trusts to sling it. (Mettenberger)

He didn't trust SWLAJC@Lafayette Transfer Man and he hasn't as of yet trusted Brandon Harris.

We're about to find out if and how much he trusts Harris and/or Danny Etling.

The entire season is dependent on this, because LSU is not winning the SEC West solely on the feet/legs of Fournette and Guice................

I kind of agree with you here. It's the old big 10 way.

I feel this way also. I have to add that when we try to run a pass play against them our blocking scheme folds like a tent and our QB has to run for his life with no look downfield.

A well-executed running game is every bit as complex as a top passing attack. The linemen must work very cohesively as a unit despite being in constant physical contact.

Anyone who says LSU's attack is "just running up the gut" is exposing his ignorance about blocking schemes and technique.

The Miles apologists would have you believe this is not only possible but highly likely.

Yet it doesn't take a genius to see this "complex " running scheme was still stopped flat in the most important games of the season, AGAIN.

Were ole miss, Arkansas and Alabama just smarter? They figured out the sophisticated complexity in a few plays?

miles doesn't trust his qb's. he didn't trust mett when the game is on the line. mett was allowed to pass mostly when he had to. with landry and beckham they were damn good at clutch pass and catch.

i'll never forget the bama game where we needed one first down to win the game, mett had been spectacular, and miles wouldn't trust him to throw. still makes me want to throw up.

I hope miles will submit to what needs to be done. I don't care if he trust the qb.

good show, bro. you captured it.

I do my damnedst just to enjoy the season every year. and miles frustrates the hell out of me every year. but I start this season, once again, with hope.

No, they are also built around a strong running game. Teams that are built around the pass can be nice and flashy, but notice how every ... single ... team that is discussed as a possible contender has a very good ground game. No exceptions.

If you want flashy passing you can be Texas Tech or Hawaii and keep wondering why the BCS doesn't notice you. God help you if your star QB gets injured. Anyone remember when UGA beat the frick out of an undefeated Hawaii with a golden QB?

If it doesn't change this year you won't be talking about Les nextnse as season. Might be talking about Dave Aranda's new offensive coordinator
