Missing the tourney with the best player in the country should never happen. I know one player can't do everything but I could understand if the team was bad. This team is not.

All I know is, if he doesn't make the tourney with this team, when will he?

His 4th year here and with his best roster yet. An NCAA berth with what he has to work with is a pretty low and reasonable expectation. The fans have been extremely patient with JJ IMO. No one expects a ship this year but a top 65 finish for what is arguably a top 16 roster in talent along with the best NBA player LSU is getting for a while would be nice. A tourney appearance and a decent showing there could be a springboard for future seasons/recruiting and would be how you properly capitalize on having the national attention and exposure a Ben Simmons can provide a program.

No bashing here, just wondering how we can go forward with a guy that cant lead a winning team with the #1 draft pick and another top 30 player and nothing but talented guys around them?...

Bringing in Simmons and putting LSU back in the conversation will give him enough goodwill for another season. Not sure after that...

He shouldn't have been hired in the first place. Why should they continue to keep him around? Literally, his only qualification for the job is that he played at LSU, that's it.

No other SEC team would have ever considered him except LSU.

No. No he does not. He's proven he can't coach. Why keep him around?

Why do you blame JJ for everything? LSU lost 2 good players to the NBA and Simmons is not what everybody expected and even if he were he is only one player.

Exactly, he was barely a .500 coach at north Texas. I guess collis temple will let alleva know if he can fire him

Alleva needs to be fired followed by the head football coach, Men's and Lady's BB coach.

I look at this team and see so little discipline and that comes from the coach. Bad defense, lack of intensity, little to no movement in half court game, horrible free throw shooting.

Remember that little team from North Florida [Florida Gulf Coast] that made a run in the tourney a couple years ago. Their coach {Andy Enfield}bolted on their success and went to USC [a football school]. Look at them now. 15-4 in the Pac 12 [a basketball conference]. Good coach who brings in players [not superstars] and develops them into a cohesive team.

There are those kind of coaches out there that good money would lure. Having the recruits we have this season shows we can bring in talent. That means a lot to a prospective coach. Waiting around until they are gone isn't as helpful, however, if players like Blakeney, Sampson, Victor and Quarterman are around for another year or more.

Were clueless because out coa h isn't prepping our team and we don't run a disciplined offense.
