No, what bothers me is the number of born-and-raised Louisianians who wear Alabama gear and cheer for them openly.

This is actually very common with people who are fans of other in-state LA teams. The more LSU wins, the more I hear it. I live in MS where I grew up around some of the loudest Ole Miss and even MSU fans. The Ole Miss fans were the worst. They were really in our face during the end of the 80's and early 90's when it seemed like the only teams LSU had a shot at beating were Ole Miss, MSU, and Tulane. Since then, those fans have really given up. I used to laugh at them and rub it in.

Then, on several occasions, I ran into some of those guys that used to really talk OM trash, and lo and behind...now are wearing full blown bama gear complete with big A's on the back of their trucks. It's about support for any team that has a chance of beating your enemy. I have even asked them what about OM, and they quickly retort, "Uh uh. I've been a bama fan all my life." Knowing they are from Kiln, MS.

For example, right now, many Tulane fans are chearing on bama. New Orleans is not the LSU stronghold that many people think. Once bama's head coach moves on, I'm sure it will just be the next school who is surging.

Nah! I live in Ft. Smith, Ar-Kansas and teach at U of A-Ft. Smith. You get used to it after a while. They're just jealous, and WISH they could compete with the big boys. It's actually a compliment. :)

I guess I just didn't expect it in a professional setting where they're being paid to directly help me. Makes for a difficult working relationship.

Are YOU paying them?

And this is what leads me to believe it's about inferiority more than anything else.

Morons don't bother me. Only morons would say something like this about a university.
For example I don't HATE Alabama university, it is a fine institution. I hate loosing to Bama and I fricking HATE 'lil Nicky.

I'm a Cajuns fan. Love the tailgating, cooking, etc.

With that said, ULL fans that say dumb stuff like that makes me mad. If ULL wants a bigger money dump, win more games.

They should have won the SBC the past 2 years and didn't do it.

If ULL hopes for more recognition they need to move conferences and win more games against bigger opponents.

I route for LSU like crazy but then again I pull for all of our instate schools. Again, I'm a big time Cajun fan and I was a fan when we prayed to win just one conference game a year and sat in the stands when you could count in your head how many people were in the stadium.

A lot of the "fans" now jumped on board right around mid-December 2012...

Some of the fan base is butt hurt, etc. You should have throat punched that guy.

The only person that ever told me that (not in jest) is a ULL grad. I just told him you're jealous. He went on to tell me how LSU was scared to play ULL when he played football there. I just laughed at him.

Typically I try to refrain myself. But then eventually it gets to a point where I can't anymore. Then I punch the offender in the side of the head and let my buddy clean the guy up for good. Works every time.

Your name's not Hill by any chance?
