The answer is yes, almost every play is RPO, but Etling has that choice.

Ok - thanks. This will be a massive change in philosophy from years past.

RPOs have become more used in recent years, but LSU was late to the game.

Should help us even more schematically.

offensive concept where a run or a pass can be chosen at the LOS by the QB, based on defensive alignment

There are also a ton of RPOs that read certain players during the play.

Someone was listening to Kannell and Pollack discuss RPOs on SiriusXM channel 84 today

Nope - at work; locked network access and not listing to radio

It was on my mind after watching some of the other games this weekend. I like Clemson's offense and I believe they use this.

Way back when, my old arse called those audibles.
Pretty sure I read on Coach Huey or somewhere the RPO was a post snap read.

Etling basically has to see a wide open receiver to change to pass and has to see the box nearly empty to change to run.

I think the difference is that audibles are vocal changes in the plays, whereas RPOs have run and pass being operated at the same time and its the QB decision

I believe that RPO is a true option. It can be a triple option as well.
After the snap, the QA can hand off if the keys are right.
If not, he might roll out.
At that point, he either runs or passes depending upon what the defense is doing.
I don't think we do RPO with Etling, but I could be wrong.

Yea but the key is read pre or post snap?
I gathered it depended on how D reacted to start of the play, not D alignment.
Like a dump pass off read option, etc.

RPO is not a pre-snap read its a post-snap read iirc.
