Im over 40 and from day one I couldnt stand them ..One of my best friends growing up dad played RB for them in the late 50's and him ribbing me when Notre Dame was actually good made me hate them.

Yeah, definitely this and the self entitlement, they even had a seperate TV contract!
FWIW Texas beat them 21-17 in that 70 Cotton Bowl to win MNC!

I remember many LSU "fans" who had a higher loyalty to ND. A few times when the two played the cheered for the Irish over the Tigers. I think it was a religious thing for them more than anything else.

PS: LSU defined class in '69. Players voted to boycott all bowls due to this outrage.
