Tried searching the net, but came up empty. LSUSPORTS.NET doesn't go that far back.

Tommy Wulff and Johnny Pott, the names sound familiar, can't place yet.

Do a Wikipedia search and you'll see that Johnny Pott actually had a pretty good PGA career and is still involved in the golf industry.
Tommy Wulff is a familiar name - I think he has been involved locally with golf - maybe someone else can fill us in.

Gardner Dickinson was also an A-A golfer at LSU but don't remember the year offhand. I wanna say Mac McClendon also.

Tommy Wulff used to run the Zurich Classic when it was at English Turn.
Wasn't the Zurich Classic. May have been the Compac Classic then.

Interesting...LSU's media guide lists Maj. J. Perry Cole as the head coach for LSU's 1940 and '42 national titles but the NCAA's website lists Mike Donahue (Donahue was LSU's football, basketball, and baseball coach long ago...also coached golf and tennis at one point too).

Another great LSU golfer is Eddie Marins (spelling may not be right). He went on to be a great teaching pro and was head pro at one of the top LA clubs. His nickname was "The Little Pro".
We have had some great golfers over the years. It would be nice to honor them, maybe at a football game in the fall.

Did they have year books? Find someone who went to LSU at that time and look in their year book.. problem solved.

Jay and Lionel hebert were at LSU in the early 40's I think and guy named Fred Haas was at LSU in the 30's. all great Pro's.

One of the Hebert brothers was on the 1947 national champion golf team. I don't know which one. They both won the PGA in separate years.
