Believe it or not, there are LSU fans who are fans of more than just the football team. We care about the baseball team, golf team, gymnastics team, track and field, etc. We care about the school and it's athletic department as a whole, and as a result, we know the players for each of the individual sports. And when these players go on to excel after college, that's good for LSU. So believe it or not, some of us absolutely have known about Smylie for years.
And you talk about what spieth winning can do for the game of golf. What about what Smylie winning can do for LSU? Everyone knows Spieth went to UT, and Fowler went to ok st, and Bubba to UGA. Smylie has a chance to rep LSU on golf's biggest stage.

That's 3 bitch and I watched all those matches on the golf channel last year baw. They also had the kid from Europe and the coach is an LSU alum as well
