Do you now understand why most of us appreciate Miles' manner?

When coaches move in or out it is always quiet, and then the move happens. There has been virtually no public drama in any movement of a Miles assistant. Come to think of it, there is very little psycho-drama at all. These issues are generally handled quietly and with class.

The same thing cannot be said about the recent moves at Tennessee, USC, Notre Dame, and Florida.

Miles appears to treat his assistants well. Decisions are made on the inside. This Tiger fan very much appreciates this aspect of Miles' manner.

Since when did it become a crime to want both...a person with character and that can actually coach (i.e. Manage the clock during games and develop players)?

The OP didn't mention anything other than the manner. (why bring coaching into it?) This is probably aimed at the folks who dislike his style of hiring/firing assistants.

Jesus Christ, people.

I have never seen such delusion. He handles things quietly and with class because the coaches SUCK and he doesn't have the balls to fire them.

Instead of firing Crowton, he lets him test the waters of the NFL. Nobody wants him, so what does Miles do? Does he shitcan him like a REAL coach would? No, he just lets him stay on to the detriment of the team.

I do not understand how you people can be so naive. Miles is a good man. Dammit, Gandhi was a good man too and I don't want him as the freaking football coach.

The reason why Miles name isn't being mentioned is because EVERYONE aside from the positigers know how garbage and in over his head he is.

AMEN!

I feel you on the delusion thing. And then he counters with the Glen Beck comment.

I'd rather be called Glen Beck than to be a Polyanna.

This

At the end of this season, I hope the same statement does not apply to Alleva.

Delusion is delusion whether it be in football or politics.

Some of us can see that. Others, apparently, will never be able to.

When Miles lose 5 or more game this year, I hope you still have faith in him. Apparently he can do no wrong.

You should do him a favor and check his prostate while your up his rear.

I am just curious, what if LSU wins 10 games or more next year, what then? Not saying they will, but would that be enough to silence you on his ability to coach or is he just a subpar coach in your mind regardless what he does from here on out? Just curious.

He brought in Gonzales to help with the offense. Miles has shown at Okla St. and LSU that he is a capable coach and can certainly recruit with the best. His meeting with some local sports media seem to indicate that he might have discussed the problems with the new coaches because he did identify some of his offensive problems. When he said he had a center that didn't gel like they thought he would and less than stellar guard play, I think the new coaches are having some impact on him. He would never have been that straight forward in discussing team problems. He said in the spring practice they would stress technique and fundamentals and pay attention to details. There will be competition at every position. Everyone should just relax as he has the ball and he can run with it or punt. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt at this point as he did win the NC. And don't give me that bull it was with Saban coached players because Saban never coached them after he left. The timing of Saban's leaving cost us recruits that year, that's all.

If Les makes it to Atlanta(in December not September) I will be the first to say he's a good coach

He can coach. He's made some great decisions and made some bad ones. He's human. Get over yourself and give the guy the support he needs this year.

Sigh...now fans are delusional because they don't want to fire Miles now. I believe it is not in the best interests of the program that LSU fire a coach after (a) coming off a 9-win season, (b) averaging 10 wins a year for five years, (c) after winning a national championship two years ago, and (d) did the right thing by running off a problem player despite his talent and importance to the short-term success of the team. It is NOT gutsy to fire a coach under those circumstances. It shows panic, lack of character, and lack of vision. Any manager that acted that way would not last long in his job.

On another note, what happened to the rule that threads calling for the firing of coaches would be whacked. This needs to stop.

8-8 in the SEC, 1 win versus top 25 in the past 2 years, and squeaking by against far inferior talent. What a coach...

What you Positigers don't get is that no rational Negatiger is calling for Miles to be fired now.

We can just see the writing on the wall. We know what is coming. Mediocrity is what's coming.

The Positigers, on the other hand, like to pretend Miles will somehow magically right the ship that he has set adrift.

We are realists.

However, if Miles were to bang out 10 or 11 wins next year and win the West, I will admit the error of my ways.

Fire Nick Saban??
Apparently some people have designs on seeing LSU Head Coach Nick Saban getting the boot. Someone registered www.firenicksaban.com. Either they don't like the direction LSU is heading, or they are a Bears/Falcons/NFL fan staking out their future claim. (Domain Lookup service available here.)

You don't want him as your football coach but you aren't calling for his firing? Miles doesn't have the [guts] to fire his coaches? Sorry, you are not being a "realist". You are agitating for Miles and his staff to be fired.
