Do you consider this series to be Mizzou's first real taste of LSU Nation?

Define "real" and "LSU nation" as you choose.

This is Missouri's third year in the SEC and the programs have met on numerous occasions in most sports. For example, softball, soccer, and gymnastics have had some decent contests I believe.

However, they have yet to meet on the football field (as SEC bretheren).

There have been 3 basketball games between LSU and Mizzouri--2 in 2013 and 1 in 2015. The only game at the PMAC was a Tuesday in January 2013.

In baseball LSU swept as series in Columbia in March 2013.

Would you consider this upcoming series, with LSU ranked No. 1 and Mizzou just falling out of the polls and a critical end-of-season match up to be LSU's "welcome to the SEC" slap on the back to Mizzou and its fanbase?

Yes. Last home series of the year, LSU sitting @ #1 and the Box will be at it's best.

I really don't think they will bring many fans. and probably not many of their fans will watch the games on tv. even less will listen on the radio or read about the game in the papers.

in other words, mizzou is gonna sneak into the box and mostly their fan base wont even know it.

I don't think Missourah has ever been to the Box before, even while they were in the Big 8/12. Time to show them what it's all about!

I agree. Like most of the time in baseball, we're all fired up to play and opponent with an apathetic fanbase. I just looked it up, last weekend they averaged 1,930 fans for the series against Ole Miss (1188,2417,1443).

In fairness, it's probably like the basketball game we played late in the season at Mizzou in 2013--they were ranked, we were decent and they have (or at least did) strong basketball support.

While this may be true for their membership in the SEC, we have indeed played Mizzou in football. In the 1978 Liberty Bowl, we lost to Missouri and their great running back James Wilder, who killed us. Final score was 20-15 Mizzou.

All true. Clearly I was refering to a meeting as SEC members.

Are you implying the baseball team is going to force Mizzou to perform oral sex on them?

Fair enough. Remember it on TV but wasn't sure it was an energized crowd.

Hanagriff mentioned on a recent broadcast that Missouri traveled to the Box during the 80's; for a couple of games which they lost. Let's hope the results this time are similar.

OK I wasn't totally sure about that, but 30 years is still long enough that it's new for a lot of people there.

No, this baseball series is about 1/20th of what the first football game against them in BR will be. That will be the first "real taste of LSU Nation". Cannot compare LSU Baseball and Football.

I might actually be looking forward to this series even more than the aTm series. Just so there is something else to talk about on here.

You don't want to talk about the latest QB that is going to transfer to LSU?

I know what you mean. We may talk bad about midweek games sometimes, but they really do help to fill the gap between weekends. Feels like forever since our last game...
