Re-watched the runs by Diggs & Jackson and they are definitely most talented backs on the roster. They both can be an elite running backs this year for LSU.

Jackson and Diggs have impressive vision, elusiveness and speed. They also seem to know where the first down marker is and hit the hole hard to get the yardage needed. No hesitation after receiving the hand off.

I would keep these two men on the field and allow them to get into a groove every game. Bring in Williams and Cain when needed, but the Emery experiment needs to end. Diggs and Jackson can lead this team to great success.

You know that was a scrimmage that was easier than the spring game, right?

Agreed. Diggs and Jackson take our run game to another level. Emery can play in the bama game tho, he seems to find a way to score against them.

I think he still has a role to play if he is willing to actually show up to class for once. If what we saw out of Diggs and Jackson continues, I actually think having Emery, Cain, and Williams as compliments would be fantastic. They all have their own unique skill sets.

Yes, I agree that all 5 have great skill sets. However, I believe keeping them in the game and allowing them ample time on the field will help with continuity and getting into a groove. Taking them out and switching them every series eliminates that. I really believe those two could allow LSU to switch to a more run heavy offense and take pressure away from Daniels.

Emery can take it to the house at anytime or location on the field.

Well I won’t be upset if Emery takes it to the house! I just am saying Diggs and Jackson could be similar to Broussard / Addia / J. Hill type backs. I think they could be very special. I know it was Grambling, but they played well and did things that were different and more fluid and powerful than we’ve seen in a few years.

It’s not hard to notice the difference between Diggs/Jackson from Cain/Williams/Bradford regardless of who they play.

Diggs and Jackson sounds like a shoot em out detective movie.

Irrelevant. Compare the two of them vs other LSU backs that also played Grambling.
Pretty easy to see who's got juice and who is just serviceable.

Wrong. John Emery is still most talented back on LSU roster and BK knows this.

Not saying anything other than most talented.

It’s hard to disagree with this. Emery gets YAC, he’s very explosive, and can cut on a dime with great acceleration to get back to speed quickly. He’s also shown to have good vision.
His availability and his fumbles are the only negatives I’ve had to complain about with him.

I look for him to have a big year if he can earn his way on to the field and stay healthy.

He will be playing on Sundays no doubt about it.

I don’t normally like to be a naysayer, but our offensive line should and generally did dominate grambling. Any RB who has the talent to play at a D1 power 5 school should be able to do approximately what they did. They looked great, but it doesn’t really show them being better than Emory, Cain , and Williams.

Really? What about the two backs who didn't play, Goodwin and Emery?

YPC from the game

Diggs - 7.7
Williams - 7.2
Collins - 6.3
Daniels - 5.8
Jackson - 5.6
Cain - 4.7

Everyone is excited about the potential for these guys but this game proves little.

Williams is still going to play a significant role for now because he doesn’t make mistakes and can get tough yards. Until Jackson has pass protection down cold (not as big of an issue vs Grambling), Williams will likely get more snaps than him. But I could see that flipping by the Bama game after a bye week.

I do think Diggs will be our starter and get the majority of the carries if healthy, though. He’s an every down back who looks to be very versatile and perfect for this offense.
