Did Tennessee or Texas have 2 different coaches win a NC?

I keep hearing fans so afraid of becoming the next Tennessee or Texas..

but how does LSU even remotely compare to either?

Saban won a national championship at LSU, then left.. Miles came in and won a national championship within 3 years..? LSU has already proven that the talent is good enough to withstand a new coaching regime.. Why on earth are people so afraid of becoming the next Tenn or Texas.. Most people don't even find Les that great of a coach and to win on talent. I am not saying I even agree with that, however, what exactly makes him so special and people so afraid of change? Is he a defensive guru? No. Is he an offensive guru? No. Is he a great game manager? I don't think so?

I'm baffled at why people are so afraid of change. Change of what? LSU lost 5 games last season. LSU is 2 and 4 in the past 6 bowl games.

LSU isn't even competitive in these losses any more.. and the wins seem incredibly challenging because of Miles' philosophy which is becoming taxing on the players.

Miles leaving now would leave the new regime with great players set up to make a NC run within 3 years yet again.

Agree. We shouldn't drag this out or have to go through a giant shitstorm over Miles. We can do much better with a good hire.

the key is the hire , look at the outstanding hire at DC this past year , yet the list was so promising ....

when LSU had its down years it was because of the incompetence of the people in charge of the hire ....

from what most are saying alleva was the cause of having to settle for steele ....

i have always supported clm but i am ready for a change lets just keep our fingers crossed its a home run hire ....

Alleva is smarter than what some think. When I starting hearing that he wasn't offering any assistants buyout clauses,in the event CLM was fired, I knew that CLM's days were numbered. There has usually been a 60/40 split with the fanbase for CLM. Now it's more like 75/25 against him. If CLM is fired Alleva will have saved the program a lot of money

Bingo! Chavis left because Alleva was hedging against Miles. Some posters on here are so stupid that they want Miles gone and also criticise Alleva's recent handling of the football team. They don't realize that one begets the other.
