Our o-line held their own. They were blowing guys off of the ball. Are they really that good

State's front was apparently legit. I think it's a mixture of the Oline figuring it out and MSU being overrated.

I think the OLine played fantastic, ESPECIALLY considering all the injuries and shuffling that went around. We arent going to survive against the even better front we'll see though if we cant get healthy.

We'll know how far the OL has come by the end of the night Saturday. Auburn is a stiff test.

the Oline will look better when the QB isn't trying to hold the ball for 6 seconds

you sly devil. just had to get a spread dig in didn't you. you don't like the pro style where the QB has to find a receiver instead of just the coach dialing one up.

Etling had also moved around very well and is getting the ball out quickly on short passes. This definitely plays a role in the improvement.

When a QB can read defenses, move in the pocket and not freak out, can step up in the pocket and not run at the sight of a defender near him, make smart decisions, yes it makes for a better looking offensive line.

No question that the O-line is playing better. However, I wonder how much of that is also attributable to Etling's ability move away from pressure in the pocket? If your QB can buy himself 2-3 more seconds per play, then the OL looks much better

Andy Dodd came in at center and they moved Pocic over to LT after Weathersby went out. That unit played well run blocking the the 2nd half.

2nd Half unit was

LT Pocic
LG W. Clapp
C Andy Dodd
RG Boutte
Rt M. Teuhema

A bad QB can make a decent O-line also look inadequate.

Yep, I think Etling's control of the offense, starting with pre-snap, has helped the OL and WRs.

AJ Jefferson is by no means overrated

It was stated that these guys missed a lot of group continuity because of the injuries during the spring and fall camp. Hopefully we will be 100% or close to it at game time.
Plus Wiskey has a hell of lot of different looks. Thank you Dave Aranda.
One would think our offensive staff would have had them better prepared? The players did comment it was't that they hadn't seen the formations, etc. Game speed is a different story from practice I guess.

Yes, OL played better despite four starters leaving the game for some snaps. State's strength was said to be their front seven, however South Alabama and S Carolina will not be confused with good offensive teams. Perhaps LSU will not either, but the OL certainly played well to the competition while having to adjust.

As a team, State is pretty weak but their DL is solid. The problem is no matter how good your DL is, a lack of legit LBers makes blocking them easier.

The team also simply looked more prepared and the playcalling was better. Fournette was also a little healthier.

Overall, I think the competition just was worse in the MSU game overall, but OL play was improved a little bit.

They gave up 2 less points to South Alabama and 9 less points to USCe.

We did leaves points on the board with fumbles and penalties but I didn't watch their other games to know if that happened in those also.

Giving up no sacks was impressive though

Outside of like 3 plays he had a clean pocket. On the few times he scrambled it was mainly due to coverage

The line has improved but the results are in a large part due to the quarterback stepping up in the pocket and adjusting within the pocket as pressure dictates

I was told by the beat writers that miss st front 7 was good and going to give us trouble. Now I'm hearing they aren't good because we did well against them.
