I dont know. I've read on here that folks were critical of his stint there. I think some Okie fans were relieved when we got him.

But times have changed in the last 20 years... except he hasnt.

Yes, pretty much the same. Underwhelming QB play, run run run. Confusion on the field as well. You can look up games on YouTube.

Yes and no. As an OC, and with a couple of his better running QBs as a head coach, I think he was more option oriented with 22 personnel. But he also had that team with Rashaun Woods that threw a good bit.

But then he hasn't always run the same offense at LSU.

Yes. Their AD hired the OC and had to tell Miles to stop meddling. Miles was not well liked up there for the exact same things that drive our fans nuts. My OSU buddies up there told me in 2005 that Miles was a great recruiter and very hard headed. They were spot on.

Wasn't Gundy his OC? Passing game had to be a bit better. I do remember it was more Pro oriented than spread. Les left, Gundy took over, and now it's wide open Air Raid

yes. It was but he had some good running backs. I believe Vereen and another guy. Also a great wr maybe Blackmon? could be wrong.

From what I remember they ran some pistol and put the qb on the edge. Offense was definitely more open than ours.

Interesting fact: Miles coached TE's for Dallas Cowbys starting in 1998-2000 right before taking the OK St job.

(the year before hiring him, Cowboys drafted LSU All-American TE David LaFleur in middle of the first round.)

He proceeded to be a bust and was out of the league in a few years after miles coached him. We hardly use TE's at LSU except to block. Just another example of failure to develop talent

There's your difference. We hired the wrong coach. Miles was taking the credit of his assistants.

Lafleur lasted more than a few years and was actually really good early on. He had a lot of nagging injuries though.

In 1987, Miles returned to Michigan, which was still being coached by Schembechler; his position was offensive line coach. When Schembechler retired in 1990, Miles continued as OL coach under new head coach Gary Moeller.

While Miles was a coaching assistant at Michigan, the Wolverines had eight consecutive winning seasons and bowl appearances, including four Rose Bowl appearances

In 1995, Moeller was forced to resign for non-football related reasons. At the same time, Miles had a rift with the University of Michigan, forcing him to seek employment elsewhere

Miles then accepted a promotion to offensive coordinator on former Colorado assistant Bob Simmons' staff at Oklahoma State. During the 1998 through 2000 seasons he was the tight ends coach for the NFL's Dallas Cowboys under head coaches Chan Gailey (1998–99) and Dave Campo (2000).

No, he didn't. His career was 4 years (1997-2000)

His best year, he caught 35 passes for 322 yds.

For career he only caught 85 passes for 729 yards over 4 seasons (about 20 rec/yr)

Was considered a bust before the injuries, which sucks b/c was excited he was supposed to take over for Novacek)

I'm sure it is

Les Miles has his own philosophy, like every coach that has ever existed
