I'm sure there has been threads started about him , but I'm extremely excited to see this manchild bully opposing ball carriers . Our current group of backers is about to be strait up salty fellas. If Aranda stays a couple more years we will field the best defense in college football very soon . If Canada can give us 30+ a game we will be back to gueriilla with a chainsaw as a dick status . Geaux tigers .

D White will be considered the premier inside backer in college football after this season. He has higher upside than beck and has a better build to play inside.

People are worried about the backend after losing Tre White and Adams but I have a feeling our front 7 will take a lot of pressure off our younger secondary. I feel really good about this upcoming season. I'm not unrealistic, I understand our QB and OL situation is far from perfect but these kids will buy into Canada's system and we will start pulling recruits that we have been losing because miles lack of creativity.

Usually an OP gets raked over the coals for a thread title with just a name, but in Devin White's case there is an exception.

I credit Les for getting Devin to sign. DW was, at the time, really wanting to play RB. He projected well at RB but better at LB.

N$ and other coaches were pushing hard to get him into their respective schools as a LB. And then he got in trouble for the second time in a very short span. This gave most schools pursuing DW a moment of pause.

At this moment, Les turned up the heat and nearly immediately secured a commitment in which White never wavered. After that, Les and Aranda were able to talk White into getting on the field with the defense. And I'm glad of it.

Biggest thing Ive noticed about him is his closing speed. He moves like Adams/Mathieu but at 250lbs. Its crazy to think how good this kid can potentially be. Also seems to read plays really well and knows his role. If he has normal year 1 to 2 improvement he could lead the nation in tackles. Kids going to be a star

Our LBers are beefy. White is listed at 248, Divinity 239, Phillips 237, Taylor 238, Thompson 228, Queen 220, Alexander 230. Hybrids such as Key 265, Anthony 242, Chaisson 240, and Thornton 228.

There's a lot of mixture of speed and size. New guys are supposedly showing out and learning the system incredibly fast. Our front 7 has some beef and we should be dominant against bigger teams, but also nimble and versatile against the spread attack.

I have a reliable sauce that keeps telling me about delpit and Todd Harris and claims there will be little to no drop off back there . I find that really hard to believe because Adams was a baller but my guy doesn't BS. Says delpit could end up being even better . We are gonna be just fine . I expect some freshman moments but these guys can play as true freshman, what more can you ask for.

I keep hearing Alexander could be a bit of a surprise this year as well. He seems to be following the Debo Jones /Duke Riley blueprint .

I got a feeling that Corey Thompson is going to be our Debo and Duke this season

I've been surprised all off season there hasn't been more talk about him outside of our fan base.

Yea Corey is another intriguing story . Kid has the athletic ability to make a difference no doubt ,but injury plagued players always scare me . I hope he stays healthy and makes himself some money !

I have no concerns about White once he has properly diagnosed the play. He is gonna make a beeline for the ball carrier, and arrive in a bad mood. I can't wait to see him meet Bo Scarborough in the hole just once.

But I do have a concern about his relative lack of game experience (and therefore potentially the ability to properly read his keys, diagnose the play, and not end up out of position). Pretty much all ILBs struggle with this at times over their first full year as a starter. Hopefully, White is a quick study...

That strip against Texas A&M's RB last year reminded of TM7.

Agreed when I saw that strip I realized the freakish talent this kid had. I heard all about it in camp but until you see it during a game I withhold expectations.
