I know he was more than likely trolling, but Devin White caused a bit of a ruckus last night on Instagram by claiming he was returning and wearing number 7 next season. I seriously doubt it, but damn I would love it. devinwhitejacobphillips

It’s not the first time he has hinted about next year.

He’s a projected top 10 pick

Don’t do this to yourself

If he were to return, awesome would be an understatement. It’s been rumblings before that he may stay for his senior season

Which is why I said I seriously doubt it.

I don’t think he’s trolling, he probably legitimately thinks he’s returning. But once the predraft process starts and he finds out how early he would be picked, how much money he could make, etc then he will definitely go.

Don’t insult Devin White’s intelligence by even suggesting he would pass up a potential first round draft pick to come back to LSU.

Extremely unlikely. The only reason I would give it a 5% chance is that the team will be loaded offensively and defensively next year and could legitimately challenge for the SEC champ and playoffs. (cue the "but OC" chorus).

+1. I think he would be the 1st EVER at LSU to NOT go pro as projected top 10 or 1st rounder. Maybe he sets the trend that will allow LSU to compete better for national championships. Perhaps we should put a statue of him outside Tiger stadium if he does stay.

Things other than money drive people. The chance at a championship is something that means a lot to these guys. If he got a career ending injury (which are rare these days) he will still be setup well for life between his degree and insurance policy. He is a smart young man and whatever he chooses will be part of a well thought out decision and plan.

He’s done this a couple of times now. I have no doubt that Devin believes he is coming back.

It’s going to be hard to say no though when an Agent sits in front of him and tells Devin that he can buy his mom a house if he leaves.

Personally I hope Tre White gets on the phone with him and Devin comes back to solidify himself as the best LBer in LSU history and one of the best players in LSU history.

I won’t blame him one bit if he decides to leave though.

Where did I suggest this? I'm just posting what he wrote. I even said he's probably trolling. Calm down Nancy.

Somehow Bama convinced Damien Harris to return for senior year as running back!!!! This is unheard of. Reggie Ragland stayed as a senior as did Jonathan Allen. Anything is possible if guys believe in LSU and their fellow players.

White is a top 10 pick so it doesn't relate to him, but I've read O is really trying to impress on a lot of the underclassmen to stay and position themselves better in the draft. There have been a lot of LSU underclassmen burned by thinking their draft stock was higher than reality the last few years.

Before the season I thought we would potentially lose all 3 starting DL, but now it seems better for Lawrence, Big Ed and Fehoko to all come back. If Chaisson comes back 100% he could make that DL dynamic by shifting offenses to focus on him and helping all 3 raise their stock.

You guys never learn, do you? White is NOT coming back. Not even the slightest chance.
