Wasn't any worse than the hot etling took while sliding.

Both were penalties though.

It was a bullshite call, especially considering the no call on Bama a series or two later. Hurts' foot hit the sideline at almost the exact same time that White hit him. His own player standing on the sidelines actually delivered a much bigger hit than White

That looked like it could have been targeting

No it wasn't. Hurts foot was just hitting the white line when White hit him, terrible call. Foster could have easily been called for targeting on Etlings slide. Even with all that being said, officiating didn't lose this game.

One on Etling was worse and also should have gotten Foster ejected. Forearm to the back of the helmet of a sliding QB is typically frowned upon. For Bama it's "not significant enough".

White's was a penalty as Hurts had already stepped out of bounds before he was hit. Problem is the refs didn't decide that was a penalty until Bama needed it.

Technically, yes. In 99% of the cases it would never have been called.

It was probably called because of the previous scuffle on the LSU sideline.

It was most definitely targeting.

He pulled up some it was technically a penalty because he hit him out of bounds. However both teams and done the same type "late hits" prior to that and they were not called. My bigger complaint is the 3-1 penalty that was offset. 36 should have been tossed as he leveled a defenseless player in the back. If the 3-1 rule is the correct call, the rule should be changed.

He bumped him, but the fact that he slipped and fell made it look worse than it really was.

It looked to me like White held up and their momentum carried in to each other. Like others have said no way the Etling slide is a non-call and this one was, no consistency there at all.

My bigger question that I haven't seen answered is how did Hurts get away with the intentional grounding in the endzone in the first quarter? To me, that is the biggest missed call of the night.

That call single handily changed the course of the game. Which lead to the no call holding on Hurts's td.

he actually ran into his own guy on the sideline who knocked him on his arse and made it look bad.

It essentially cost us the game on that drive.

Bull crap. He was out of bounds before he was hot. That was a good call. The non call on the Etling hit I had an issue with though.

You have to hit the QB in that situation. Fast forward to fourth quarter. Hurts was going out of bounds. Everyone pulled up and he tightroped the side line for extra yards.

Rarely called because it's so marginal. The only reason it was called IMO was the previous scuffle on the sideline.

Terrible call. Wasn't a hard hit just a shove and he was barely out of bounds. You do not call that. Alabama favoring once again.

if hitting them is a penalty, you gotta do something if the QB stops and tightropes.

shite, as a defensive player what are you gonna do?
