No idea what it was, but I understand the short leash. If it was him being late, I agree with Kelly. Imagine having to catch a train and it leaves at the same time everyday. It’s not gonna wait for a single passenger even if he’s a minute late. You getting left on that platform, while every one of your coworkers make it to work.

"Personal matters" could and likely does mean he's in an involuntary time out from the team to force him to take time and reflect on his behavior and it's consequences.
I don't think that's nothing. He's on thin ice. Kelly's just not going to phrase it like that to the public. "Personal matters" is ambiguous enough for some people to incorrectly assume it has nothing to do with football.
